No, the greater mass might absorb less energy from the strings leaving a
tiny bit more to hear through the sound box of the guitar.  Energy passes
more readily between objects of equal mass.  An example is a pool ball that
captures all of the energy of the cue ball. At the other extreme, you can
junp up and down all you wish but the earth doesn't absorb any of your
energy.

The above effect undoubtedly occurs but the important question concerns the
amount of energy involved. I think that you will find that an ordinary
guitar head is massive enough and that adding more mass will not perceptibly
affect the sound. It is not that an effect isn't there, but that it is too
small by orders of magnitude to detect.

Here's the killer. Greater head mass could only affect open strings because
the mass of the neck at the fret is what a fingered string feels.

Bear in mind that human hearing is logarithmic and requires a very large
change of sound pressure to produce a perceptible change in loudness.
